Code Consultants
International Private Sector Services
Building Design
Review
We provide design review services to our clients to
determine whether the proposed design complies with
local building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fire
codes, land use regulations and other local, state,
federal and international codes & standards. We clarify
our role by providing our clients with a scope of
services clearly indicating the codes and standards
governing the review.
To be most effective,
we prefer to become involved in the design review as
early as possible so that code discrepancies can be
identified at the beginning of the design process. Often
a schematic design review can save substantial design
and construction costs and gives us an opportunity to
present alternatives for code compliance to the design
team.
Code Consultants
International, Inc. will meet with local, state and
federal, and other authorities to help avoid unpleasant
surprises that can arise from time to time due to
unfamiliarity with local policies, code amendments or
local code interpretations. Our staff are experienced in
coordinating with local building and planning
departments and are effective in resolving issues that
may arise.
In many cases, local
building departments will accept our code analysis
submitted along with the construction documents and will
then conduct a cursory review to check our code
assumptions. We have found that in every case, our
design review has facilitated the review process and has
proven beneficial to our clients, saving time and
frustration.
We employ a
user-friendly template document for the design review
and show code compliance criteria in easy to understand
formats. We do not rely on “canned” plan review software
but rely on highly trained and skilled reviewers to
assure compliance. Our staff will be happy to meet with
the design team or contractors to explain code
requirements or give feedback on code alternatives that
are proposed.

Project Inspection
Services
Code Consultants International, Inc. provides our
clients with building inspection services for specific
construction projects on a 24-hour, 7-day a week
basis. This inspection service certifies compliance with
local building, plumbing, electrical and mechanical
codes either in lieu of, or supplemental to, the local
building department’s regular inspection service.
This service has proven
to be beneficial to our client's construction project
schedules by entirely eliminating down time due to lack
of inspections or untimely inspections by the local
building department. Days and even weeks can be gained
in a project’s schedule when utilizing this service.
Local building
departments are often understaffed and may not be able to
provide timely inspection services, especially when
large projects impact their workloads. Furthermore, in
an effort to be fair with all permit applicants, the
local building department will rarely give large scale
commercial projects any more priority than small
residential projects.
In virtually every case
however, building departments will not provide
inspections on weekends or during evening hours on a
consistent basis and will
not provide same-day re-inspections. Code Consultants
International, Inc. will fill this gap by offering
after-hours and weekend inspections to supplement the
local department's inspections.
We employ only top
quality certified and dedicated inspectors who
understand our objective is to provide high quality
inspections without interruption. Our company provides a
service level not available by local departments. We
offer a pro-active approach by giving the contractor and
subcontractors an opportunity to walk the job with us
while we answer questions.
We work closely with
the local building department inspection staff to assure
that our inspectors are “on the same page” with their
inspectors. We also set up systems acceptable to the
local building department to document code compliance.
